Luxembourg citizens who were present in Israel have safely returned to their home country last night. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed this morning that 17 Luxembourgish citizens and residents returned to the country in good health, arriving via a multi-role A330 MRTT aircraft, a military plane designed for transport and refueling.

This flight was carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and with the assistance of consular services, the National Defense, and the military authorities of Luxembourg, notably the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense of the Netherlands.

On the night of October 12, 2023, the plane departed for Eindhoven, where the Luxembourg Embassy team in the Netherlands welcomed the citizens and residents of Luxembourg at around 2 AM.

Passengers who had been in contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since the outset of the crisis were transported to Luxembourg by bus. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg stated in a press release, "Since the beginning of the Hamas-led jihadist aggression, 52 individuals have been able to leave Israel safely."
